The History of the Tuxedo
Now considered a timeless piece in both men's and women's wardrobes, the tuxedo jacket has also freed itself from convention, and the ways in which it can be worn are manifold. Let's take a look back at the history of the tuxedo, from British aristocracy to our contemporary wardrobes.
How do your tuxedo jackets fit?
Lauren and Christy tuxedo jackets fit true to size. We recommend taking your usual size, or sizing up if you prefer a slightly more oversized fit. Please check your measurements against our size guide.
What is the length of your tuxedo jackets?
The Lauren and Christy tuxedo jackets have a straight cut that reaches the hips. You can find the length of each style on the size guide.
What materials are used to make tuxedo jackets?
We only use reclaimed and natural materials. The main material for our tuxedo jackets is cool wool, wool grain de poudre, or wool gabardine. The collar material is silk duchesse satin. We are very demanding in our material sourcing to avoid releasing microplastic particles and to ensure a beautiful drape and fit for as long as possible, thus making our collections sustainable. All our materials come from dormant stocks of major fashion houses.
Where are your tuxedo jackets made?
All our tuxedo jackets are made in the greater Paris region; we are committed to working with workshops located as close to us as possible. Our buttons and labels are made in Paris. We have also received the "Fabriqué à Paris" (Made in Paris) label for our Diana tuxedo jacket in off-white wool gabardine with a black satin collar, made in a partner workshop in the 18th arrondissement of Paris.
Where can one try on tuxedo jackets?
We welcome you by appointment at our studio apartment in the heart of the 11th arrondissement. A special moment with the founder to try on our collections.

What is a dormant stock?
Deadstock refers to unused fabric rolls, of various sizes, stored in brands' and manufacturers' warehouses. The origin of deadstock varies: it can be from cancelled productions, errors, or cancelled orders. Find details on the materials used in our collections on the upcycled materials page.
